Located near the Ocqueoc Falls, the "Underground" is the inspiration for this web site. A true natural wonder, the Ocqueoc Underground is where at least seven streams flow out of the ground for about 150' into the Little Ocqueoc River. There are trails to hike, but wear waterproof shoes or boots, or shoes you don't care about getting wet and muddy. The Underground can be found off M 68 on Silver Creek Rd. Silver Creek Rd. is a snowmobile trail during winter and is quite sandy. I've seen automobiles as well as pick up trucks and suvs traverse the road. I've walked it, and the amount of sand can be challenging, as can getting out of way of vehicles. Motorcycle and bicycle access is not recommended. - Donna K |
